Here’s who was really dancing in that bonkers Deadpool 2 video with Celine Dion

Spoiler alert: Not Ryan Reynolds

If you’ve ever imagined Deadpool in the context of a 1990s adult contemporary ballad — and, really, who hasn’t — then boy does Celine Dion have the video for you.

In it she belts out “Ashes,” Deadpool 2’s title track, while Deadpool lurks in the obligatory empty concert hall. Then at about 1:46, the show really begins.

The dancer in the suit (and heels!) on stage is not Ryan Reynolds, sorry. That’s Yanis Marshall, who copped to the vampy performance on his Instagram yesterday.

Marshall is a teacher (currently with the Broadway Dance Center) and performer. He was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 and is the new choreographer of Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity show in Las Vegas.

But really, let’s not let Celine Dion — of all people — be overshadowed here. (Congrats, Yanis, look what you just did.) Good on her for accepting this pitch and going at it just as fully in character, too.

Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters on May 18. Josh Brolin, fresh from his role as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, stars as Cable.
