Sorry, Spider-Man and Star-Lord: this one's just for the initial line-up.
Five of the six original Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) got matching tattoos recently to commemorate their super-team.
Downey Jr. told Entertainment Weekly that the tats were Johansson's idea. "She and (Chris) Evans did it in New York," he said. "Then, their New York guy, Josh Lord, who is amazing, flew out to LA, he did me, did (Jeremy) Renner, and then we just bullied (Chris) Hemsworth into doing it, and he got it."
Only Mark Ruffalo abstained. Apparently ink just isn't how the Hulk rolls.
The design was a minimalistic Avengers logo intertwined with a "6", standing for the original six members who took on Loki with his hordes of Chitauri and space-whales.
As well as the five actors getting inked, they also collectively gave the tattoo artist a tat of his own.
"Each one of us drew a line on the artist with his own tattoo gun and it was a total massacre," Downey Jr. told Entertainment Weekley. "Each of us contributed to giving the tattoo artist the sixth tattoo that he designed for us."
